That night the moon was shy

(1)

The somewhat warm Spring evening

had slipped into the bosom of the moonlit night,

Our silvery bodies – now illuminated

by the silvery moon,

The sky too came down to kiss us,

That night the moon was shy;

(2)

As our hug meandered into an embrace,

I could see her from the eyes of my soul,

So let there be darkness – who cares,

That night the moon conspired with us,

That night the moon was shy;

(3)

The lull after my lullaby,

There she was – asleep,

Trusting my arms

that would carry her throughout the night,

The only other sounds – our heartbeats,

The only other colour – the silvery moonlight,

That night the moon smiled at us from above,

That night the moon was shy.
